Greg Shanklin

Greg has served for the last twelve years as counsel to a global real estate investment advisory firm representing municipal, state and public pension plan investors, as well as foundations and endowments; this, following twelve years practice at Wall Street law firms.  In those positions, Greg has been involved in all aspects of finance and construction of projects ranging in size from 7 World Trade Center to outer-borough housing co-ops. Formerly an architect, Greg was involved in the design and construction of a broad array of public-oriented projects including federal housing, state corrections and medical facilities, and community projects such as small college drama facilities, churches and serving as an architect / group facilitator for a cooperative grocery.

In addition, Greg has served on the NYC Bar Association committees on Land Use Planning & Zoning and Housing & Urban Development, is a past-president of the American Planning Association's Planning & Law Division and served as a member of the APA's Legislation & Policy Division.  Greg holds a professional degree in architecture, a Juris Doctor, and a Masters in Planning with a focus on urban economics.  He is licensed to practice law in NY, CO, TX and PA, and for 25 years was licensed as an architect in NY and MO and was NCARB certified.
